Henna and Eid: A Tradition of Preparation and Celebration
Understanding Henna Quality During Celebration Season
At times like Eid, when intricate designs and reliable results matter most, the quality of henna becomes especially important.
Henna is a natural crop, harvested once per year, and its characteristics can vary depending on growing conditions. Last year, regions such as Rajasthan experienced higher than usual rainfall. This resulted in henna plants that were slightly more fibrous than typical.
While this might sound like a drawback, it’s actually a great example of why processing matters just as much as the plant itself.
Our Super Sift Indian Raj Henna Powder is produced from this crop and has been refined through a 9x sifting process, removing any excess fibre and ensuring a smooth, consistent powder suitable for detailed mehndi work.
Despite the seasonal variation, the dye quality of this crop is excellent. With a lawsone content of 2.84 (on a typical scale of 1.5–3), it delivers strong, reliable staining — ideal for both body art and precise designs.
We also lab test our henna, so we understand exactly how it will perform. This level of insight allows us to continue offering consistent quality, even when working with a natural product that changes slightly year to year.
A Tradition That Continues to Evolve
Henna traditions continue to evolve across generations and cultures, but their role in moments of celebration remains constant.
Whether applied in intricate patterns or simple designs, henna remains a meaningful part of preparing for special occasions — connecting people through shared rituals and creativity.
