Hair Care and Conditioning Pack
An Ayurvedic hair care pack of plant powders with lemon peel, to cleanse and condition hair once a week.
Ayurvedic hair care and conditioning pack
This Ayurvedic hair care pack combines six traditional hair powders with lemon peel: amla, shikakai, multani mitti, khus, neem and reetha.
Together they cleanse the scalp and condition the hair. We recommend using it once a week, especially for dry hair or hair previously coloured with chemical dyes.
What each ingredient does
- Amla: conditions and adds shine.
- Shikakai and reetha: traditional natural cleansers that wash gently.
- Multani mitti: a fine clay that draws out excess oil.
- Khus: adds a cooling, earthy fragrance.
- Neem: a traditional ingredient in Indian hair care.
- Lemon peel: adds a fresh scent.
How to use
- Mix the powder with warm water into a smooth paste.
- Apply to wet hair, massaging gently into the scalp and through the lengths.
- Leave for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Use once a week, in place of your usual shampoo and conditioner.
Before natural hair dye
The Ayurvedic hair care pack contains no dye, so it is a good way to prepare hair before henna or indigo. Clean, conditioned hair takes up natural dye more evenly. Leave a day or two between using the pack and colouring.
Good to know
- Do a patch test first if you have sensitive skin.
- Keep the paste away from the eyes.
- Rinse well, as the clay and powders can leave a fine residue.
Who is it for?
The Ayurvedic hair care pack suits anyone who wants a natural alternative to shampoo, and anyone moving from chemical dyes to henna and other plant dyes. It can be used on all hair types.
Storage
Keep the pouch sealed in a cool, dry, dark place.
