Jagua that flows like henna

Our jagua paste cones hold a jagua paste specially formulated for a smoother, creamier consistency that closely resembles traditional henna paste. Unlike standard jagua gel, which can be stringy, it flows evenly for precise, intricate designs, and gives a rich, deep blue-black stain. It suits beginners and professional artists alike, and is strained through a fine cloth before packaging.

Why choose paste over gel?

Henna-like flow: familiar to henna artists, with fine, controlled lines.
Less stringy: easier for filling large areas and shading.
Natural blue-black: made from jagua, the fruit of Genipa americana, with no PPD.

Sizes

3, 6, 9 or 12 cones of 10ml each (30ml to 120ml), so you only thaw what you need.

How to use

Thaw a frozen cone at room temperature, then snip the very tip. Apply to clean, dry skin with no lotion or oil. Do not mix jagua with lemon juice, which can weaken the result.

Results

Leave jagua on the skin for about 1 to 2 hours, or until dry, then wash it off gently. The design looks faint at first, then darkens to blue-black over 48 to 72 hours and usually lasts one to two weeks, so apply it two to three days before an event. Do a small patch test first, and do not use jagua if you have a citrus or tropical fruit allergy.

Storage

Keep the cones in the freezer until needed. Once thawed, store them in the fridge and use within a few days. Avoid thawing and refreezing the same cone repeatedly, as this weakens the stain.

Ingredients

Jagua powder, water, lavender essential oil and a gelling agent.

Many artists keep both jagua paste cones and jagua gel cones, using paste for detail and gel for bold work. Prefer to mix your own? Start with jagua powder.
