Natural castile liquid soap

Made from sunflower and coconut oils, this natural liquid soap is a castile soap that is kind to the skin and free from sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulphate (SLES). Scented versions use fine essential and attar oils.

Use it for everything in the bath or shower: hair, body and even shaving.

Ways to use our natural liquid soap

• Body wash: a little goes a long way on a wet flannel or sponge.
• Hair: a gentle, SLS-free wash, especially for hair coloured with henna or other natural dyes.
• Shaving: lather on wet skin for a smooth glide.
• Hands: decant into a pump bottle by the sink.

Washing hair with castile soap

Natural liquid soap lathers less than shampoos made with SLS, and some people find their hair needs a little time to adjust. A diluted apple cider vinegar rinse after washing can help leave the hair smooth and shiny. Avoid contact with the eyes.

Castile soap is made from plant oils rather than animal fats or synthetic detergents. Sunflower oil gives a mild, gentle wash, while coconut oil helps it lather. It is a simple, versatile soap for the whole family.

Scented or unscented?

The unscented version is a good choice for sensitive skin, for children and for adding your own essential oils. Our scented versions use fine essential and attar oils for a natural fragrance without synthetic perfume. Whichever you choose, the soap base is the same mild castile soap, free from SLS and SLES.

Shake gently before use if the soap has been stored somewhere cold, as plant-based soaps can thicken slightly in low temperatures.
