Super Sift Indian Raj henna powder

Our super sift henna powder is Indian Raj henna sifted nine times, with a high dye strength. It makes a very smooth, stringy paste for the finest mehndi lines and detailed bridal work.

Why choose super sift henna powder?

How to mix

  1. Add lemon juice or water to the powder a little at a time, stirring until it is the consistency of thick yoghurt.
  2. Stir in a skin-safe essential oil such as cajeput or lavender, and a little sugar if you want the paste to stay on the skin longer.
  3. Cover and leave at room temperature for dye release, usually 6 to 12 hours, until a darker brown layer forms on top.
  4. For body art, strain through a stocking before filling cones or bottles.

Because super sift henna powder is already so fine, many artists find straining is optional, but it still gives the smoothest result for very fine tips.

Aftercare for a dark stain

Leave the paste on for at least 4 to 6 hours, or overnight, then scrape it off. Avoid water on the design for the first few hours. The stain starts orange and deepens over 24 to 48 hours. Hands and feet stain darkest.

Storage

Keep your super sift henna powder sealed and away from heat, light and moisture. For long-term storage, keep it in the freezer, and freeze any mixed paste you are not using straight away.
