250ml Amla Hair Oil
A nourishing Ayurvedic amla hair oil with amla and shikakai in organic sesame and almond oils.
Ayurvedic amla hair oil
Amla hair oil is a traditional way to condition the hair. Warm a small amount in your palms and work it through the hair and into the scalp.
Our blend combines amla and shikakai extracts with organic sesame and almond oils, in the style of traditional Indian hair oils.
What's in it
- Organic sesame oil 65%
- Amla extract 15%
- Organic almond oil 15%
- Shikakai extract 5%
Why use amla hair oil?
- Softness and shine: leaves hair feeling soft, smooth and glossy.
- Scalp massage: a relaxing part of a weekly hair care routine.
- After henna: a good way to condition hair between henna applications.
How to use
- Warm a small amount of oil in your palms.
- Massage it gently into the scalp, then work it through the lengths and ends.
- Leave for at least an hour, or overnight, then wash out with a gentle shampoo.
Use as often as you like, from once a week for regular conditioning to a little on the ends between washes.
Using amla hair oil with henna
Oil can stop henna binding to the hair, so wash any oil out thoroughly before you apply henna. Wait a couple of days after henna before oiling again, to give the colour time to settle.
Good to know
- Do a patch test first if you have sensitive skin or a nut allergy, as it contains almond oil.
- For external use only.
What is shikakai?
Shikakai (Acacia concinna) is a pod traditionally used in India as a gentle hair cleanser. Together with amla, it is one of the classic ingredients of Ayurvedic hair care, which is why we include both in our blend.
Storage
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dark place.
