Freshly mixed bulk henna paste

We mix 400g of henna powder to make about 1.4kg of bulk henna paste, ready for you to fill your own cones or applicator bottles. Store it in the freezer until needed. We strain every batch through a fine cloth before packaging, so the paste flows smoothly for fine lines.

You will need your own cones or bottles, or you can add empty henna cones to your order.

Choose your henna

  • Indian Raj: stringy, for fine line work.
  • Jamila: creamier with a little string, for swirls and rounded work.
  • Sojat: from a different part of Rajasthan, slightly less stringy than Raj.
  • Raj and Jamila blend: a paste with the qualities of both.

Choose your mix

  • Lemon juice or water: lemon juice helps dye release, or choose water if you have a citrus allergy.
  • Sugar: optional, to keep fast-drying paste on the skin for longer.
  • Essential oil: lavender is used if none is chosen. All our oils are skin safe.

If no options are chosen, we mix Indian Raj henna with lemon juice, sugar and lavender or cajeput oil. If in doubt, email us before ordering.

Why buy bulk henna paste?

  • No mixing: skip the sifting, mixing and waiting for dye release.
  • Your choice of applicator: roll your own cones or use bottles for steady lines.
  • Good value: ideal for artists who get through a lot of paste.

How to use

  1. Thaw the paste in the fridge or at room temperature.
  2. We strain the paste through a fine cloth before packaging, so it is ready for fine line work with no straining needed.
  3. Fill your cones or bottles, using a carrot bag for less mess.
  4. Apply to clean, dry skin and leave on for at least 4 to 6 hours, or overnight, then scrape off.

Storage

Fresh paste loses strength at room temperature within a few days. Divide your bulk henna paste into smaller portions before freezing, so you only thaw what you need.

Who is the 1.4kg size for?

About 1.4kg of bulk henna paste fills roughly 80 of our 17g cones, making it our best value for studios, teams of artists and large events. Split it into portions as soon as it arrives and freeze what you will not use within a few days.

Frequently asked questions

How should I store the henna paste?
The henna paste should be stored in the freezer until you are ready to use it. This helps maintain its freshness and potency.
What options do I have for henna powder and oils?
You can choose from Indian Raj, Jamila, Sojat, or a blend of Raj and Jamila henna powders. For oils, you can select your preferred essential oil, with Lavender being the default if no choice is made.
Can I use water instead of lemon juice for mixing?
Yes, if you have a citrus allergy, you can choose to mix the henna paste with water instead of lemon juice.
What should I do if my henna paste dries too quickly?
If your henna paste dries quickly, you may want to consider adding sugar to the mixture, which helps keep the paste on the skin for a longer duration.
Do I need additional products like rose water for better coloring?
No, additional products like rose water are not necessary, as they do not enhance the henna paste or its coloring properties.
