Our wholesale jagua powder is 100% pure Genipa americana with a natural organic preservative to keep it fresh. It is 100% skin safe and gives a blue-black stain. As a natural product, the powder colour can vary slightly from pouch to pouch without affecting the stain.

Wholesale jagua powder is ideal for artists, studios and retailers who make their own jagua gel or hengua blends in larger quantities.

Use it for

• Mixing into jagua gel for cones and applicator bottles.
• Adding to henna to make hengua (jagua and henna blends) for a deep brown-black stain.

How to make gel from jagua powder

For every 10g of raw jagua powder you will need 3g of xanthan gum, 3ml of essential oil and 50ml of water, so a 100g pack takes 30g of xanthan gum, 30ml of essential oil and 500ml of water.

1. Mix the jagua powder and xanthan gum together, then add the water and essential oil and stir into a smooth gel.
2. Leave it to rest so the xanthan gum fully hydrates, then stir again.
3. Fill cones or applicator bottles, and freeze anything you will not use within a few days.

Results

Jagua gel is left on the skin for about 1 to 2 hours, or until dry, then washed off gently. The design looks faint at first, then darkens to blue-black over 48 to 72 hours and usually lasts one to two weeks. Always do a small patch test first.

Storage

Keep unopened packs in a cool, dry, dark place, or in the freezer for long-term storage. Once mixed, keep jagua gel frozen until needed.
