Acrylic henna practice hand

A full-length henna practice hand, approximately 48.5cm long, in frosted clear acrylic.

Apply henna directly, or place it over a pre-drawn template and trace the design. Artists find this acrylic easier to work on than white polished acrylic, as it gives a more stable surface for the paste.

When dry, henna scrapes off easily and the hand can be washed and reused.

Why use a henna practice hand?

How to use it

1. Print or draw your design and place it under the hand, or work freehand.
2. Apply henna paste or jagua gel with a cone, just as you would on skin.
3. Let it dry, then scrape off the paste and wash the hand with warm, soapy water.

A henna practice hand is ideal for beginners learning cone control and for experienced artists trying new bridal patterns before a booking.

Practice ideas

• Fill the palm with a mandala, then add fingertip caps.
• Practise straight lines, dots and petals until your pressure is even.
• Time yourself on a full bridal design to plan client bookings.
• Try jagua and henna side by side to compare how they flow.

Care

Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive scourers and solvents, which can scratch the acrylic.
